Government and Street law Teacher at PHS, Ronald DeGregorio is quitting his job after more than a decade of teaching. No, he isn’t retiring, even though his hair is greying. Degregorio is quitting his job to join America Got Talent.

To some people this may come as a surprise, but DeGregorio’s whole teaching career has led up to this.

In 2012 DeGregorio first released his hit single, “The 14th Amendments Rap.”

Even though this was his first project, every year fans of his have been waiting everyday to listen to his music video.

After some backlash from certain students who aren’t fans, we ask the question if they really do enjoy watching and listening to the music video everyday.

“No, I don’t force my students to watch my music video,” said DeGregorio.

DeGregorio exclaimed he is very antsy for his America Got Talent audition, but maybe not in the way you’d think.

“I mean don’t get me wrong I’m super excited to share my beautiful voice, but there’s just something about Simon Cowell giving me those eyes and biting his pen while I’m on stage,” DeGregorio said.

Degregorio is quitting his job and traveling across the country to even get the chance to win the golden buzzer.

“My stress has been through the roof,” DeGregorio says. “But the most stressed out I’ve been is when I had to ride my electric scooter 30 miles for a doordash order while one of my students followed me and took pictures.”

DeGregorio is perhaps the most loved teacher through the student body. I know they all wish him luck on his journey to pursue his rapping career through America’s Got Talent, and will miss him very much.

Goodbye, Ronald DeGregorio. We’ll see you on stage.
