Girls soccer team stays perfect, wins 3rd straight district title

Yellow Jackets shut out Ashland 7-0, advance to regional semifinal

The Perrysburg girls soccer team remained perfect  with a 7-0 victory Saturday against Ashland, capturing the Division I district championship.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets face Northern Lakes League foe Anthony Wayne in the regional semifinal. That game will be played at Bowling Green State University’s Cochrane Stadium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victory Saturday marks the third straight district title for Perrysburg, now 19-0 on the season.

Maddy Williams led the Yellow Jackets with two goals and two assists. The other Perrysburg goals were scored by Courtney Clody, Beth Glowacki, Allex Brown, Josie Fowler and Lucy Walton.

The Jackets have now scored 90 goals, while allowing only five.
