Imagine being a senior in high school.  You and your friends have to part ways because of the avenues and futures that you and your friends. However, just before everyone goes on their merry way, Perrysburg High School has a day called Decision Day. It is an event for seniors where they are celebrated for the post-grad decision they make, whether it’s college, a gap year, or trade school.

Dr. Justin Fults, PHS principal, says Decision Day is “the opportunity for our senior class to proudly proclaim what their next step will be from Perrysburg High School.”

The advice that Fults had was “I would say one of the most important things they can do is understand the gifts that they have  and to be brave and pursue opportunities that allow them to do things that they’re good at.” Fults added that “I want them to understand that the next step is not about choosing their life’s work, it’s about choosing what is next.”

Sophia Mullins, a senior in high school,  said she is going to University of Cincinnati to major in business.

Mullins also said that despite not being able to see some of her friends after graduation, she sees college as the “next step.”

Mullins exclaimed that “I feel excited as I go on my next journey.”

Trevor Madigan, a senior in high school, also expressed similar sentiments.

Madigan said he was “sad but grateful” when referring to the idea of saying goodbye to their friends who, they will not see each other.

Madigan said “I feel happy.” He added, “This is the last time I feel so connected with these people.”
