After one week of playoffs there are only 32 teams left in Division 1 OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) football. The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets are one who remains. The Jackets pulled off a 47-0 win to advance to the second round of the playoffs. The Jackets will play the Berea-Midpark Titans Friday, November 8.
The Titans are 4-7 in the season, coming off of a 30-6 win over the 9-2 Lorain Titans. The Titans are the 11th seed in the bracket. The Titans have scored 290 points and allowed 327 this season. The Titans are ranked 104th in the state.
Perrysburg wide receiver Dominik Woods said, “Everyone has to do their jobs and we have to throw the ball a little more.”
Tight end Tivan Bennett, a Yellow Jacket junior said, “We can make it past this week but we need to run the ball better and have more explosive plays.”
Schedule
There are no common opponents between the Yellow Jackets and The Titans. The Titans had the 43rd hardest schedule and the toughest opponent they played was the Avon Eagles. The Eagles are a Division 2 team who had the hardest schedule in Division 2 according to Fantastic 50. The Eagles won 49-7 over the titans and are ranked 8th in the state.
The hardest opponent for the Yellow Jackets was the Anthony Wayne Generals. The Generals had the 69th hardest schedule in Division 2. The Generals beat the Jackets 31-17. The Generals won their first round of the playoffs 48-6.
The Titans had the 43rd schedule in Division 1. The Jackets had the 61st hardest schedule. The Titans played 4 teams including the playoffs that are in region 1 and had a combined record of 3-1. The Jackets played 3 teams and went 2-1. The Jackets scored 97 points and only allowed 41. The Titans had scored 106 and allowed 75 points.

Next Round
The winner of the Jackets and Titans will go on to play the winner of the Whitmer Panthers at the 3rd seed and the St Edward Eagles at the 7th seed. The Panthers are 9-2 with the 53rd hardest schedule. The Panthers had beaten the Jackets 27-14. Panthers are coming off of a 49-0 win over the John Marshall Lawyers.
The Eagles had the hardest schedule in Division 1 playing on a national schedule. The eagles are 4th in DIvision 1 and 11th in the state. The Eagles are 6-5 and coming off a 48-0 win over the Findlay Trojans.
