Tonight is a make-or-break game for the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets football team in the playoffs facing a tough opponent.
After a long season, the Yellow Jackets get to play against the second-ranked Olentangy Berlin Bears. Both teams scored 20 points against their respective opponents last week but Perrysburg a higher ranked opponent, the Whitmer Panthers.
Perrysburg football coach Dirk Conner said making the playoffs is “awesome, but that’s what we expect every year, so it’s nothing different. I think we did a good job.”
Nick Oros, a senior and running back said making the playoffs is, “Awesome. It’s a totally different environment compared to the regular season. Every game, every week is going to be a competition.”
The offensive line is critical to a Yellow Jacket victory this Friday
Oros said “I have to work with my line to make the blocks needed and to know assignments so we can score.”
Reed Gerken, an offensive lineman, agrees with Oros, saying, “It’s on the O-line and having to maintain their blocks well and doing their blocks well.”
