It’s official! As of April 1, 2024, PHS Facility Dog Taft is now the principal of PHS, replacing principal Aaron Cookson. This news may seem shocking to students of PHS; however, this April 1 plan of succession has been underway for a few (dog) years.
Cookson said, “I have been planning my retirement for awhile and I needed to find someone pawsome fulfill the duties of being principal.”
“I wanted to retire that the PHS staff and students are in good hands – or paws. That was when I
thought of Taft. He cares for the staff and students as much as I do!”
Cookson informed the Perrysburg Board of Education of his recommendation for a new principal
and the vote was unanimous! They all agreed that Taft would be the perfect fit as the new
principal of PHS!
Taft said, “WOOF . . . WOOF . . . WOOF.”
Taft is extremely excited about being the new principal and is extremely grateful for this
opportunity. When asked what his first steps will be in his new role as principal, he laid down for nap, appearing to indicate that nap time will be a regular part of the Wellness Wednesday initiative.
